애드 혹 망에서 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 전송을 위하여 개선된 ODMRP

Abstract

멀티미디어 컨텐츠와 같은 대용량의 데이터 전송을 위한 서비스의 질(Quality of Service: QoS)을 보장할 수 없기 때문에, 기존의 모바일 애드 혹 네트워크는 방송과 통신의 융합 시대에는 적합하지 않다. 그러므로 통신 환경의 변화와 발전에 따라서 기존의 모바일 애드 혹 네트워크 프로토콜은 그것의 약점인 지연과 QoS를 보완함으로써 개선될 필요성이 존재한다. 이 논문에서, 제안된 프로토콜인 히스토리 기반 수요 지향적 멀티캐스트 라우팅 프로토콜(History-based On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol: HODMRP)은 루트를 설립하기 위하여 세션 히스토리(session history)라는 기준을 추가함으로써 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 전송을 위하여 기존의 모바일 애드 혹 라우팅 프로토콜 중에서 가장 적합한 수요지향적 멀티캐스트 라우팅 프로토콜(On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol: ODMRP)을 개선하였다. HODMRP는 시뮬레이션 결과에 의할 때 ODMRP보다 더 나은 패킷 전달률(Packet Delivery Ratio: PDR) 값과 더 낮은 지연 시간을 가진다. 결과적으로, HODMRP는 기존의 모바일 애드 혹 라우팅 프로토콜보다 더 향상된 QoS와 더 낮은 지연시간을 보장하기 때문에 방송과 통신의 융합 시대에 더 적합한 프로토콜이다.; Most existing mobile ad-hoc networks are not suitable in a convergence age of broadcasting and telecommunication as it can not secure Quality of Service (QoS) for transmission of large scale data like multimedia contents. Therefore, according to the change and progress of telecommunication environment, most existing mobile ad-hoc network protocols need to be improved by making up for delay and QoS which are the weak points. In this thesis, the proposed protocol, termed HODMRP (History-based On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol), improves On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol (ODMRP) by adding the criterion which is the session history for establishing routes. HODMRP has better Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) value and lower delay time than ODMRP by simulation results in this thesis. As a result, HODMRP is a suitable protocol for the convergence age of broadcasting and telecommunication because HODMRP ensures higher QoS and lower delay time than existing mobile ad-hoc routing protocols
