Abstract
This paper shows a lifetime prediction test for LED(Lighting Emitting Diode) using BLU(Back Light Unit). The LED is widely used in Display devices or Lighting industry. It was shown that the open due to delamination were the LED for BLU failure mode and mechanisms from failure analysis of LED samples. Then, we have defined failure as yellowing state and 100% reduction of light output intensity of LED and acceleration factors as temperature and current in Accelerated Life Test(ALT). So, we have estimated the common shape parameter of Weibull distribution, life-stress relationship and accelerating factor by ALTA(Software). Then, We estimated B10 life for LED and compared conditionally with temperature(100℃, 120℃) and current(70mA, 80mA). The B10 life result was calculated a 3,394hr in case 100℃, 70mA and 772hr in case 120℃, 80mA. In general, life of LED has a 50,000hr but this test was estimated a 33,114hr. The grape indicated a sudden curve line when Current increased from 70mA to 80mA than temperature increased from 100℃ to 120℃. Therefore Reducing inflow of continuously high current is improve LED life for reliability.
