A real time locating system automatically track and locate men and objects.
We propose a model for speed monitoring of vehicle using wireless sensor network based on real time localization. Our proposed model is based on symmetric double sided two way ranging algorithm which has the capability to zero out the effect of clock drifts between transmitter and receiver. In our model two anchor nodes are used as road side units at fixed location and height and moving vehicle is equipped with on board unit called tag.
Gathered data from tag is used to calculate the speed of vehicle at base station. Experimentation is done in real time with car to evaluate the performance of proposed model at different sampling interval of time by moving the vehicle at different speeds. Due to noisy nature of data, discrete Kalmanfilter is used for best estimation of speed of vehicle. We have compared the true value with measured value and estimated value.
