Abstract
ABSTRACT Hydraulic Characteristics of Using curtain wall Breakwater with Submerged breakwater Heun Kim Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Graduate School Hanyang University This study, in an effort to develop a breakwater that combines economic feasibility and environment-friendliness of the coastal zone, prevented carrying away of floating fish cage using the existing curtain wall type breakwater, and secured the work space, and also intended to use an submerged breakwater introducing the concept of artificial reefs in order to secure environment-friendliness. And further, this study attempted at maximizing the wave screening performance by mutually complementing it through the use of the representative permeable breakwater, i.e. curtain wall type breakwater mixed with the submerged breakwater. This study used the smallest cross-section of each model breakwater in order to maximize the wave screening performance consequent on the mixed use of breakwaters. In addition, in order to reproduce high wave reflection coefficient as against a specific long period, this study arranged submerged breakwaters in consideration of Bragg reflection. In addition, this study analyzed the wave reflection coefficient and wave transmission coefficient of each period by generating the wave of the period of the range whose relative depth was 1.5~0.5, and observed the free surface displacement between the first curtain wall type breakwater and the second curtain wall type breakwater in order to judge workers' safety and the stability of the floating fish cage.
