들리브의 오페라《라크메》와 푸치니의 오페라《나비부인》의 비교연구

Abstract

본 논문은 프랑스 낭만주의 작곡가인 들리브와 이탈리아 베리스모 오페라 작곡가인 푸치니를 비교 연구한다. 이 연구는 두 작곡가의 작품 중 유사한 소재를 바탕으로 작곡된 오페라 《라크메》와 《나비부인》의 극적, 음악적 구성의 공통점과 차이점을 중심으로 진행된다. 먼저 두 작품 사이의 극적 구성의 관계를 살펴보기 위해서 ‘극의 짜임새에 대한 이해’, ‘극의 과거에 대한 이해’, ‘극의 현재에 대한 이해’, ‘인물분석’, ‘사상과 주제’의 다섯 가지 관점으로 나누어 비교 연구한다. 또한 두 작품 사이의 음악적 구성의 관계를 살펴보기 위해서 ‘오페라 전체 음악구조분석’, ‘관현악편성’, ‘배역과 성악성부의 상관관계’를 살펴보기로 한다. 구체적인 분석을 위해 두 작품 모두에 삽입된 꽃을 소재로 작곡된 소프라노와 메조소프라노의 이중창인 ‘꽃의 이중창’을 비교, 분석함으로 두 작곡가의 음악적 특징을 알아본다. 이 연구를 통해 오페라에 대한 올바른 해석과 깊이 있는 이해로 감상과 연주의 질을 높이고자 함이 목적이라 하겠다.

| This article studies about two different composers, French composer Lé o Delibes who is one of the most significant ballet composers in Romantic period and Italian composer Giacomo Puccini who composed many operas which the most frequently performed in the standard repertoire. This research focuses on the opera 'Lakmé ' by Delibes and 'Madame Butterfly' by Puccini. To compare two operas, the author finds the commons and differences between two operas in dramatic and musical aspects. At first, to find the relationship between two operas in the dramatic analysis, the author uses five important perspectives, 'understanding of the story structure', 'understanding of the past and the present of story', 'analysis of characters', and ' thought and theme'. Secondarily, to reveal the relationship between two operas in the musical character. This article compares two operas in the perspectives as like 'analysis of music structure', 'orchestration ', and 'relationship between characters and voice part '. Specifically, the author compares directly about two duets from each opera which has the same title about the flowers. In the comparison, this research finds musical characteristics of two composers.
