- 타원곡선의 정의로부터, 타원곡선 위의 유리수 좌표들이 유한생성가환군이 된다는 것을 살펴보았다. 그리고 타원곡선에 대한 congruence 제타함수로 정의된 Hasse-Weil L-함수 L(E, s)를 살펴보았다. s=1일 때 L(E, s)에 대한 오일러 곱이 무한 곱으로 수렴할 때, 소수 p로 다듬은 타원곡선 위의 유리수 점의 좌표의 수는 의 값에 근사했다.
