dc.description.abstractIn this study, a new photoalignment material based on an azo , an chalcone and an cholesterol moiety was introduced in order to get over the limits(low photosensitivity, reversibility of azo moiety, low adhesion of film and so on) of the previous existing photoalignment materials for film patterned retarder. Through study on the terpolymer having properties of photoalignment and adhesion, a new terpolymer using a monomer contains azo moiety and other monomer contain a hydrophilic group was designed and synthesized, and then new polymer were synthesize successfully and characterized using 1H NMR, IR and UV . Obtained terpolymer exhibit low pretilt angle(0.47915°) measured by polarizer rotation method.-
