dc.description.abstractThe platinum content needs to be decreased without sacrificing performance of the cell to be a commercialization of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Suspensions of Pt/C catalyst nanoparticles in nafion solution have been prepared to gas diffusion layer (GDL) by electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) for cathode of PEMFC. According to the other literature, the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) prepared by ESD showed higher cell performance than the one prepared by other methods like spraying or brushing. It was attributed that the MEA prepared by ESD showed both morphological and structural improvements that contribute to a better catalyst utilization compared to conventional methods. So it was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It showed dendritical morphology by SEM and higher performance compared to conventional electrodes by I-V curve and EIS graph.-
