Abstract
The organic-inorganic nanocomposite materials are to be expected generally stronger, stiffer and tougher than native organic materials and can be potentially useful in a variety of application. Increasing effort has been devoted toward exploiting the aligned structural design in the synthesis of novel nanocomposites, in which a major focus has been on layered nanocomposites composed of organic materials reinforced by the inorganic layer. However, an alignment or an orientation of the inorganic nanoparticles in the organic matrix, it seems not obtained yet. Our approach for the design of aligned organic-inorganic hybrid materials is to produce nanocomposites with an orientation through hydrogen bonding interaction with 1,2-di(pyridyl)ethylene, 4-hexylbenzoic acid and TiO2 nanoparticles in a proper ratio. The prepared organic-inorganic TiO2 nanocomposites were appeared orientation phase by hybrid bonding in specific ranges of temperature from 118 °C to 140 °C on a heating curve and from 110 °C to 130 °C on the cooling curve. Once it passes through one heating cycle, it keeps the orientation in the second heating cycle depending on TiO2 morphologies. Small angle X-ray diffraction of the organic-inorganic TiO2 nanocomposite with needle shape TiO2 exhibit peak at 4.29°, which implicit ordered structure of 20.58 Å in short range when it is heated to 115 °C.
