Abstract
Recently, Standardizations of vehicle diagnosis protocols for remote vehicle diagnostics is on progress. A typical diagnosis protocol is DoIP (Diagnostic Communication over Internet Protocol) which belongs to the ISO 13400. In the ISO 13400 the network between vehicles and multiple test equipment is limited to the broadcast domain which cannot deliver packets to the public Internet. However, vehicle diagnosis service providers and users want remote services over the public Internet which is wider than the broadcast domain. In this thesis, 2 extended communication interfaces for remote diagnosis service have been designed and realized. In the first interface, which is titled TTAC (Test equipment to Actor Communication) model, control messages are added to the existing DoIP. The second interface is a private tunnel model which uses OpenFlow switches. All simulation results show that the performance satisfies existing DSCT (DoIP Service Completion Time) requests. Additionally, the private tunnel model using OpenFlow switches is better than the tunnel model using VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) in terms of total processing time. Consequently, it is suggested that through the proposed communication interfaces service providers can remotely diagnose the vehicle over the public Internet which is wider than the broadcast domain.
