dc.description.abstract | Fluorinated copolymers have received considerably much attention due to excellent and noticeable features such as high thermal stability, oil and water repellency, and low dielectric constant. Also, they can be used in the field of marine environments due to their low surface tension, non-adhesive nature, and antifouling properties. In the study, we prepared new perfluorinated copolymers from new acrylamide-based monomer containing perfluorooctyl phenyl unit (PFOMAM) and DOPAM, TEPAM or HEPAM in the presence of free radical initiator (BPO). The resulting copolymers had their melting temperature ranged from 215 ℃ to 234 ℃ and their composition was calculated by the characteristic hydrogen peaks from their 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Their resulting film and fiber were prepared by solvent casting and electrospinning processes, respectively. With time, dynamic contact angle, hysteresis and film surface results confirmed that the perfluorinated copolymer film and fiber have excellent hydrophobic and oleophobic properties as well as good antifouling behavior. | - |
