프랑크 ˂바이올린 소나타 A장조˃에 대한 분석적 연구

Abstract

19세기 프랑스 작곡가인 프랑크(Cesar Auguste Franck, 1822-1890)는 그의 작품에서 소나타 형식의 고전적인 기악음악의 형식 뿐 아니라 순환형식(cyclic form), 다양한 전조, 반음계적 구조, 즉흥적인 선율 등의 낭만적인 요소들을 동시에 보이고 있다. 본 연구의 <바이올린 소나타 A장조>는 프랑크의 유일한 관현악 소나타로서 기존의 소나타 형식과는 달리 총 4악장으로 이루어져 있다. 소나타 형식이 보통 3악장으로 구성되어 있다면 이 곡에서는 중간에 'Recitativo-fantasia' 즉 자유로운 환상곡 풍의 악장을 포함시켜 기존 소나타 형식의 틀은 유지하면서 4악장 구조의 새로운 소나타 형식으로 작곡되었다. 뿐만 아니라 순환 형식을 통하여 각 악장에 나타난 주요 동기 A, B, C, D를 변형하여 다른 악장에 재등장시키는 구조로서 주제변형을 통해 악장간의 통일성을 유지시키며 진행하였는데 이렇게 고전적인 틀 안에서 낭만적인 색채를 표현하며 다채로운 면모를 보여주었듯 이 작품을 접하는 사람으로 하여금 여러 가지 표현적 해석이 있을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 프랑크가 활동했던 시기의 문화적 흐름, 그의 음악관과 창작을 바탕으로 한 대표적 작곡 기법인 ‘순환형식’과 <바이올린 소나타 A장조>에 나타난 그의 작곡 기법과 특징을 전반적으로 알아보고, 이를 바탕으로 헨레(G. Henle Verlag), 인터네셔널(International Music co.), 도버(Dover Publications, Inc.) 에디션의 음악적 해석을 비교해 보며 같은 곡이지만 상이하게 표현된 부분을 중점으로 그것이 가져올 수 있는 효과와 해석의 차이에 따른 표현에 대하여 연구하고자 하였다.| Cesar Auguste Franck(1822 - 1890) showed his styles not only classical form like sonata form but also romantic features such as cyclic form, various transposing, chromatic scale structures, and improvisations. <Violin Sonata in A major> of Franck was the only sonata for instruments of his repertoires which has four movements unlike usual sonata form which consists of three movements. This piece added free fantasy movement, ‘Recitativo-Fantasia’, to usual sonata form, so it became new four movements sonata form. Moreover, Franck contained the unity of movements by transforming main motive A, B, C, D in each movement and reappear those motives in different movements with cyclic form. There are various interpretations of this piece because it has romantic elements in classical form. This study contains cultural movements of the period of Franck and his composing skills and features of <Violin sonata in A Major> with ‘cyclic form’ which was a dominant composing skill of Franck. Moreover, the author compared musical differences of the piece in three editions, Henle, International, Dover.
