한국적 창작 발레 작품 분석을 통한 창작발레 활성화 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 한국에서 창작 발레라는 명칭을 처음 사용했던 작품 <처용>부터 2000년대까지의 한국적 창작 발레 작품 안무의 변화 양상을 분석하여 시대별 한국적 창작 발레의 창작방식의 변화양상을 진단하여 향후 한국적 창작 발레가 나아갈 방향에 대하여 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 한국 창작 발레를 활성화시키는데 기여한바가 높은 국립무용단의 창작발레의 변천사를 고찰함에 있어서 각 작품의 구성과 형식적 요소들을 도출하여 분석하여 창작 작품의 구조적인 메커니즘을 찾고자하며, 이와 같은 메커니즘의 변화가 갖는 예술적 가치와 향후 한국 창작 발레가 나아갈 방향에 대하여 제시한다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다. 이와 같은 연구를 진행하는데 있어서 발레 창작 방식에 대한 검토 및 한국 창작 발레의 흐름과 예술적 가치에 대하여 이론적으로 검토하고, 국립발레단에서 한국 창작 발레라는 명칭으로 새롭게 창작된 작품을 시대별로 분석한 결과 국립발레단의 한국 창작 발레는 한국적 발레를 활성화시키기 위해 시대별로 한국적 주제를 적극적으로 수용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 작품의 구성, 움직임 테크닉, 무대구성, 의상디자인, 주제의 표현양상들이 변화 양상을 보여주고 있었다.

이상과 같은 작품분석을 통해 한국적 창작 발레의 활성화를 위한 방향에 대하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.

첫째, 한국적 창작 발레의 활성화를 위해서는 주제의 다양화를 위한 방향 설정이 필요한데, 그 과정에서 가장 중요한 요소가 바로 주제에 대한 새로운 해석을 시도할 수 있는 안무가 발굴을 통해서야 비로소 이루어질 수 있는 영역이라 할 수 있다.

둘째, 한국 창작 발레의 활성화를 위한 레퍼토리 구축 활동은 한국 창작 발레의 고정 레퍼토리화, 기존의 창작 발레의 재해석, 레퍼토리 교육을 통해서 우수한 한국 창작 발레의 활성화를 유도할 수 있을 것이다.

셋째, 한국적 창작 발레 활성화를 위한 스타 발레 안무가 발굴은 안무가를 육성할 수 있는 직업무용단의 안무센터 운영, 직업무용단 단원들의 활발한 안무 활동 유도, 안무가들이 해외교류 프로그램 운영 등을 통해서 이루어질 수 있을 것이다.

넷째, 한국적 창작 발레의 활성화를 위한 안무 교육 구축을 위해서는 직업무용단 안무센터에서 수행되는 교육 내용에 대한 다양하도고 구체적인 방향 설정이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국적 창작 발레 활성화를 위해 안무센터 교육의 내용의 구성을 한국적 창작 발레를 위한 새로운 테크닉 개발을 위한 움직임 체험교육과, 한국적 미의식과, 주제의 다양성을 확보하기 위한 인문학 교육, 창의력 향상을 위한 소그룹 교육과 창작 과정에서 공연으로까지 연계시키는 교육 내용을 포함해야 한다는 점을 도출하였다.

이상과 같이 국립발레단의 한국 창작발레 작품 분석 결과를 반영하여 향후 창작 발레가 나아갈 방향에 대하여 제시하였다. 국립발레단은 한국을 대표하는 발레단으로서 발레 문화를 선도할 수 있는 환경요인을 가지고 있는 단체이다. 따라서 국립발레단의 미래지향적인 창작활동은 한국의 창작 발레를 세계에 알릴 수 있는데 기여하는 바가 높을 것으로 사료된다. |This study analyzes the changes in choreography of Korean creative ballet works from the first use of creative ballet in Korea to the 2000s, and diagnoses changes in the creative methods of Korean creative ballet by period. It aims to present the direction in which ballet will go. In examining the history of the national ballet's creative ballet, which has contributed to revitalizing Korean creative ballet, the composition and formal elements of each work are derived and analyzed to find the structural mechanism of the creative work. The significance of this study is that it suggests values and directions for future Korean creative ballet. In conducting this study, I reviewed the method of ballet creation, theoretically examined the flow and artistic value of Korean creative ballet, and analyzed the newly created work under the name of Korean creative ballet at the National Ballet. Korean creative ballet has been actively accepting Korean themes by period in order to revitalize Korean ballet. However, the composition of the work, the technique of movement, the composition of the stage, the design of the costume and the expression of the theme showed a change pattern.

Through the above work analysis, the following conclusions were drawn about the direction for the activation of Korean creative ballet.

First, in order to activate Korean creative ballet, it is necessary to set the direction for diversification of themes.

Second, repertoire building activities for the activation of Korean creative ballet can lead to the activation of excellent Korean creative ballet through the fixed repertoire of Korean creative ballet, reinterpretation of existing creative ballet, and repertoire education.

Third, the discovery of a star ballet choreographer for the activation of creative ballet in Korea will be possible through the operation of the choreography center of vocational troupes who can foster choreographers, the induction of active choreography activities of vocational troupes, and the choreographers' overseas exchange programs.

Fourth, in order to establish choreography education for the activation of Korean creative ballet, it is necessary to set various and specific directions on the contents of education performed at the vocational dance company choreography center. As mentioned above, this study suggested the direction of the creative ballet in the future by reflecting the analysis result of the Korean ballet works of the National Ballet. The National Ballet is Korea's leading ballet group and has an environmental factor to lead the ballet culture.
