이가림 시의 분석적 연구

Abstract

이가림 시는 낭만적 꿈과 고전적 시선의 협주로 이루어져 있어서, 어느 한쪽으로의 경사를 제어하는 균형 감각 아래서 씌어지는 일관성을 보여준다. 그는 한 편 한 편의 밀도를 최대한 높여 자신만의 견고한 표지(標識)를 그려낸 몇몇 가작들만으로도 충분한 자기 완결성을 가지는 시인이다. 첫 시집 『빙하기』는 청년기의 침묵과 사색의 깊이를 선명하게 일러주는데, 여기서 그는 분노와 상처, 눈물과 공포를 단단하게 함유한 채 그 특유의 낭만적 꿈을 표상한다. 하지만 그는 천상과 지상, 영원과 순간, 낭만적 꿈과 고전적 시선을 동시에 욕망하는 모습을 한결같이 보여준다. 이러한 균형 감각이 그로 하여금 차가운 현실을 증언하고 역사의 마디를 복원하는 투시력을 견지하게끔 한 것이다. 그의 후기 시편은 인간의 의지적 측면을 중심으로 하여, 인간 존재의 가장 근원적인 심층을 응시한다. 그러한 절제와 균형이 그의 시학을 높은 품과 격으로 이끌어 올린 것이다. 결국 이가림 시의 문학사적 의의는 우수와 그리움 같은 낭만성과 현실 투시와 절제의 방법론에 따르는 고전적 시선의 균형을 통해 한국 시의 미학적 위상을 한 차원 높인 데 있다 할 것이다. Consisted of symphony between classic perspective and romantic dream, Lee, Ga-rim’s poems show the consistency of being written under the sense of balance by holding back a slant toward a certain side. He is a poet of completeness with a few outstanding poems describing his own solid signs raising the density of each one of his poems to the maximum. His first poem book, ‘Glacial Epoch’ shows the depth of silence and contemplation of youth. In the book, he expresses his peculiar romantic dream firmly holding anger and wounds, tear and fear. However, he consistently desires heaven and earth, eternity and moment and classic perspective and romantic dream. This sense of balance has made him possible to maintain the penetrative power of testifying the harsh reality and restoring joints of history. His later poems stare at the most basic depths of human being centered at the aspects of human will. This restraint and balance has pulled his poetics up with dignity. After all, the significance of Lee, Ga-rim’s poetry in the history of Korean literature lies in that he has raised the aesthetical status of Korean poetry by balancing romanticity of melancholy and longing, and classic perspective of penetrating reality and restraining.
