관광업계에서의 미투운동(Me Too Movement)에 대한 현상학적 연구

Abstract

본 연구에서는 관광업계의 특성을 고려하여 직장 내에서 벌어지고 있는 성희롱 및 성추행범죄에 대하여 종사자들이 어떠한 생각을 가지고 있는지 살펴보고자 하며, 전 세계적으로 확산되고 있는 미투운동에 대하여 관광업계에서의 실태를 현상학적 접근을 통하여 살펴보고자 한다. 관광업계에 종사하고 있거나 종사경험이 있는 대상자 중 성희롱 및 성폭력 경험이 있는 대상자를 선정하고, 스노우볼 샘플링(snowball sampling)을 통하여 2018년 5월 22일부터 6월 10일에 걸쳐 일대일 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 개인·관광업·사회에서의 영향에 대한 연구문제를 제시하였으며, 202개의 의미단위, 25개의 변형된 의미단위, 11개의 하위주제, 4개의 주제를 도출하였다. 본 연구는 미투운동현상이라는 사회적 이슈를 관광학 분야에 접목시켰으며, 다양한 관광업계 종사자를 대상으로 연구를 진행하여 연구의 범주를 다원화시켰다는 점에서 그 의미가 있다. 또한 관광업계에 만연해 있는 성희롱 및 성폭력 범죄에 대한 현상을 공론화시켰다는 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to investigate workers' opinions about sexual harassment and sexual violence in the workplace considering the nature of the tourism industry. This study examined the actual situation of the “Me Too” movement in the tourism industry by applying the phenomenological approach. We have presented three research (individuals · tourism industry · society) questions. The results were grouped with the number of 202 semantic units, 25 modified semantic units, 11 sub-themes, and 4 themes. The meaning of this study is as follows. First, in carrying out research on sexual harassment and sexual violence, we introduced a social problem called the “Me Too” movement into the field of tourism. Second, we carried out research on various tourism industry workers and diversified the scope of research. Practical implications are that it has raised issues of sexual harassment and sexual violence in the tourism industry.
