Abstract
This study aimed to ask a conceptual question, 'What is prejudice?, identify the meanings and attributes of the concept of prejudice, and lay a theoretical ground for establishing efficient nursing intervention to reduce prejudice. For methodology, conceptual analysis applying a hybrid model was performed in the theoretical, fieldwork, and analytical phases. To determine the scope of using the concept of prejudice and identify its attributes and make its manipulative definitions, 29 relevant domestic and overseas articles and two books were analyzed. Prejudice can be defined as a 'view expressed as if it is actual after reconstruction based on lack of understanding and unhealthy self-concept due to overlapped, distorted media not grounded in reality with fixation of differentiated sociocultural structures.' It will be possible to develop an interventional plan for reducing prejudice, which is applicable to practice, and to provide basic data for developing theories, through the conceptual attributes and manipulative definition of prejudice. © 2017 International Information Institute.
