Modified TiO2 suspensions were prepared by adding silver nitrate to the suspension such that the desired Ag/Ti atomic concentration ratio was obtained. Ag-deposited TiO2 particles were formed by a chemical reduction method using a semi-batch reactor and were characterized. The photocatalytic disinfection of E. coli using the nanoparticles was also investigated. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.en_US
