모바일 컨텐츠 시대의 새로운 현대시 유형에 관한 연구 - <포엠툰>을 중심으로

Abstract

이 논문은 <포엠툰>을 통하여, 모바일이라는 대중매체의 특성이 어떻게 시적인 면모로 이어지고 있는지를 살피고, 그것이 우리 시단에 시사하는 점은 무엇인지를 탐구하고 있다. <포엠툰>은 `포엠(poem)`과 `카툰(cartoon)`의 결합물이다. 포엠의 형상 매체인 `문자`와 `카툰`의 결합양상은 `메시지 층위`를 통해 드러난다. `메시지 층위`는 `카툰이미지형 메시지`, `카툰내부문자형 메시지`, `카툰외부문자형 메시지`, `비(非)카툰문자형 메시지`로 나뉘어 진다. 이 네 메시지 층위의 결합 양상을 통하여 유형화해보면, 전체 60작품 중, A 유형과 B 유형은 나타나지 않으며, C유형 1개, D유형 1개, E유형 8개(2컷 이상 3개), F유형 7개(2컷 이상 4개), G유형 34개(2컷 이상 4개), H유형 9개(2컷 이상 5개)로 나타나고 있다. 여기서 2컷 이상의 작품들은 `서사성`을 추구한 결과이다. 이렇게 다양한 `메시지 층위`들의 조합은, `다성성(多聲性)`의 구현으로 나타나서, 독자들의 감수성을 유발하고 공감대를 형성하는 데 기여한다. <포엠툰>은 모바일 콘텐츠의 `이모티콘`을 창조적으로 수용하여, 다양한 감정의 시각화에 성공하고 있다. 이것은 `모바일 세대`의 감수성을 수용하고, 모바일의 다양한 매체적 특성을 창의적으로 수용한 결과이다. 기존 시인들의 형식 실험이 실패한 것은 이렇게 새로운 감수성을 수용할 수 있는 형식을 만들지 못한 데 있다. 이런 점에서, <포엠툰>은 기존의 문자 중심의 시(詩)에서 벗어나, 문자와 회화의 유기적 조합을 이끌어낼 수 있는 가능성을 찾아냈다는 존재가치를 지닌다.

The purpose of this study is how mobility, one of the characteristics of mass media, leads to poetic aspects and suggestions that might be made to current poetry circles. `Poemtoon` is the combined word of `Poem` and `Cartoon`. The ways of combination of text, which is a medium of shape for poems, and cartoons are shown as `message structures`. Message structures are divided into four patterns: `cartoon-image type`s message`, `the message type of written language inside cartoon`, `the message type of written language outside cartoon`, and `the message type of written language for meta-cartoon`. As the four patterns were categorized according to the way of combination, none of the sixty works was A-type or B-type. We could find one C-type, one D-type, eight E-types (five multiple frames), seven F-types (four multiple frames), and nine H-types (five multiple frames). The works of multiple frames are regarded as the result of pursuing epic poetry. These various combinations of message constructions show us the actualization of `polyphony`. Also, they stimulate the readers` sensibility to form a common identity. `Poemtoon` succeeds in realizing the visualization of various feelings by creatively accepting emoticons of mobile content. The result is that Poemtoon creatively embraces the sensibility of the mobile generation and various characteristics of mobility. The reason for the failure in poets` former attempts at poetic formulation experiments is that they didn`t create a new formulation which could accept this type of creative sensibility. As a consequence, `Poemtoon` found its way out of text centered poems and has a meaningful potential for organically combining text and picture.
