- Abstract
- This study is for the effect of Recreation Dance on the Body Composition and the Blood Lipids of middle-aged women with obesity having 25 over BMI. The Recreation Exercise Program for selected targets had been proceeded for 12 weeks, 3 times in a week and for 50 minutes a day with increasing the intensity by wearing Polar on exercising. In stages, the intensity was at 50~55% HRmax from the first to forth weeks, 55~60% HRmax from the fifth to eighth weeks and 60~65% HRmax from the ninth to the twelfth weeks. This study was performed for the purpose of providing basic data to develop adequate exercise program and prescription decreasing the rate of Women's Obesity and Coronary Artery Disease. The result of this study was as follows. First, there were significant differences(P<.001) on all the factors of Body Composition as Weight, Body fat, Muscle Mass. Second, there were significant differences(P<.001) on all the factors of Blood Lipids as Serum Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides and Blood Glucose. Therefore, the 12 weeks' Recreation Dance Exercise had positive effects on almost every factor of Body Composition and Blood Glucose of middle-aged women with obesity. Through this result, it is considered that the program is able to positively affect on Weight Loss and prevention of Coronary Artery Disease and furthermore the continuous study on this is needed.
