dc.description.abstractIn this study, the numerical investigation on the DeNOx characteristics of NH₃-SCR catalyst is performed. The various chemical reactions such as the standard-, NH₃ oxidation and NH₃ adsorption/desorption have been considered. The mathematical and chemical reaction kinetics models are also investigated to predict the performance of the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia over a vanadium-based SCR catalyst. In order to account for transport effects, the kinetics is coupled with a fully transient two-phase 1D+1D monolith channel model. The chemical reaction kinetics models are adopted to describe the unsteady- and steady-state kinetic behavior of the vanadium-based SCR catalyst. The reaction rate expressions are based on previously published literature and are modified to provide the best fits to experimental data. The mathematical and reaction kinetics models used in this study have been validated extensively with the experimental data over a wide range of reaction temperatures and operating conditions.en_US
