경제윤리에 대한 실증연구 : 공동체적 선(善) vs. 경제적 효율성

Abstract

이 논문에서는 공동체적 善과 경제적 효율성 간의 갈등과 선택에 대하여 설문조사를 통해 실증적으로 접근하고자 한다. 대학생들의 공동체적 善과 경제적 효율성 간의 선호를 계량하여, 전자를 선호하는 정도를 ‘공동善선호도’라고 하였다. 이러한 분석을 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 생명과 사회도덕적인 문제에 대해 공동善선호도가 높고, 개인적이고 일상적인 문제에 대해 공동善선호도가 낮다. 둘째, 사회·인문계열 학생들은 경상계열 학생들에 비하여 공동善선호도가 높으며 이를 통계적으로 뒷받침할 수 있다. 셋째, 세 개의 설문문항에 대하여 일단 응답을 하게하고 토론을 하고 난 이후 다시 응답을 하게한 결과 전체 307명의 학생들 중 24%가 응답을 변경하여 토론의 효과를 무시할 수 없다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 전공계열에 따라 공동善선호도가 차이가 나고, 또 토론에 의해 그 선호도를 변화시킬 수 있는 기회가 있음을 고려한다면, 경제윤리에 대한 학제간의 교육과 토론의 필요성이 제기된다고 할 수 있다.

This paper approaches empirically to the conflict and choice between citizens’ virtue and economic efficiency through college student survey. The preference between the two is quantified, and the ratio that the first is chosen is called ‘degree of Preference of Virtue to Efficiency(in short, PVE).’ The findings of this paper can be summarized as follows. First, the PVE``s of the issues regarding life and social morals are high, compared to those of the issues regarding personal or ordinary life. Second, the PVE``s of the students majoring social science and humanities are higher than those of the students majoring economics, which can supported statistically. Third, the debate after the survey made 24% of the students change their response. These findings imply that interdisciplinary education and debate about economic ethics is necessary, considering that PVE``s are different according to student``s major and that debate can change their response.
