Abstract
This descriptive study examines nursing students' perception of nursing malpractice. The students have experience in nursing practicum. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed. The subjects were senior students of a nursing college. The data was collected during class designed for nursing malpractice using 130 anonymous questionnaires from April 2013 to November 2015. The data was analyzed using the Krippendorff content analysis method. The two categories created were (1) Causes of Nursing Malpractice and (2) Effects of Nursing Malpractice. Causes of Nursing Malpractice was divided into six themes: False Nursing Knowledge and Inadequate Skills, Procedural Problems, Decisional Problems, Absence of Respect, Ignorance of Legal Responsibilities and Unethical Conducts. The category of Effects of Nursing Malpractice was divided into two themes: Causing harm to the Patient and Inflicting Pain. ©2016 International Information Institute.
