As the combat vehicle should be designed with the consideration of various performances such as mobility and firepower, it is hard to find the optimal design that satisfies both performances at once. Moreover, since performances are related to each other, design of integrated system is difficult for the combat vehicle and hence, multi-objective optimization should be performed to obtain the optimal design. This paper presents the multi-objective optimization of a 6-wheeled combat vehicle considering both mobility and firepower performance. A gradient-based optimization algorithm is used and an adaptive weight determination scheme is applied to obtain the optimal non-dominated solutions that are evenly distributed. The optimization problem is formulated to minimize the acceleration time and roll angle after lateral firing while the target values of the vertical acceleration and pitch angle are used as constraints. It is confirmed that optimal solutions are evenly distributed in the objective space and the results show the trade-off relationship between the conflicting objectives.en_US
