Abstract
The thermal performance of desiccant and evaporative cooling-assisted-100% outdoor air system (LD-IDECOAS) is evaluated through the commissioning process. By conducting the draft test in peak cooling season, the commissioning was recognized for designed cooling performance. The commissioning processes were categorized by three options. The test 1 (option A) is a control of return air humidity level for enhancing the cooling performance of indirect evaporative cooler(IEC). The test 2 (option B) is supply water temperature control on the liquid desiccant (LD) unit to adjust the dehumidification rate. The test 3 (option C) is adjusting the supply and return air flow rate to enhance the cooling performance of IEC and dehumidification performance of LD unit. The test 1 result showed that the impact of DEC operation on the humidity level of indoor is limited, but DEC was affected to the cooling performance of the propsoed system. The supply cooling water temperature was also affected to the dehumidification rate of LD unit. By the test 2, the increase of supply water temperature on the LD unit leads the enhancement of cooling performance of IEC, but it is also leads the increase of supply air temperature. Through the test 3, the air flow rate have effects on the effectiveness of IEC, but it has not significant on the cooling and dehumidification performance of IEC and LD unit.
