dc.description.abstractWe propose a bistable chiral splay nematic liquid crystal (BCSN-LC) display on the plastic substrate with enhanced memory characteristic. The strong azimuthal anchoring energy enhanced by the surface treatment by using RMs derives the higher energy barrier between a splay state and π-twisted state. Finally, by the disturbance of transition between two states, a memory characteristic could be significantly improved in our flexible BCSN-LC cell.en_US
