Abstract
In this study, different generation of magnetic cored dendrimer terminalized with amine functional groups were synthesized, and characterized by XRD, TGA, TEM, SEM, FT-IR, VSM and DLS analysis. To compare the maximum adsorption capacity of each generation number, the residual concentration of heavy metal ions was analyzed with ICP-OES. As the generation number of MCD increases, more organic branches and amine functional groups were synthesized on the surface. However the adsorption properties for metal ions, the second generation of MCD was the highest among MNP, G1, G2 and G3. First of all, the number of organic contents of various generation MCDs were calculated with both theoretical and experimental method and compared. Additionally, an acid base titration was performed to quantify the capacity of amine functional groups in various generations of MCDs.
