dc.description.abstractA human face is the most exposed part of the body, and in patients with simple or complex trauma from traffic accidents, industrial calamities, sports injuries, human assaults, and daily accidents, facial trauma occupies an important portion. These facial traumas are known to have various etiologies depending on a society’s economic, cultural, environmental status.Regarding patient’s who were admitted in the years 2000 to 2009 at the Hanyang University hospital, the author studied how the changes in the economic status in the past 10 years of our country influences the incidence of facial bone fractures. The results showed that a total of 2628 patients including 2049 men and 579 women had facial bone fractures, with much more incidence in men, and the sexual distribution ratio being 3.54:1. In both men and women, facial bone fractures were most common in the twenties.In correlation studies, they showed that the higher the unemployment rate , the lower the incidence of facial bone fractures and the lower the incidence of cause of the facial bone fracture “Fall”. Also, unemployment rates were significantly related to facial bone fractures in the multiple regressing models.en_US
