Abstract
This paper represents a study for trains that can receive power from the catenary and the battery as an energy storage device. In order to keep the train transport capacity while preserving the life, it is necessary to operate with optimal charge and discharge scenarios. The reason for this is because the battery has a limited capacity and lifetime. Simulation program was conducted for establish the optimum charging and discharging scenarios with modeling train, battery and catenary. Train driving energy was calculated by setting a particular station spacing and the gradient of the road conditions, analyzed the pattern of discharge of the battery. Scenario was developed for the discharge energy to recharge and The effectiveness of this scenario was shown by simulation.
