Abstract
Reduction of carbon dioxide using photocatalyst has been received attention. Because reduction of carbon dioxide using photocatalyst needs only water and light. Among photocatalysts, titanium dioxide can reduce carbon dioxide stably. Titanium dioxide has low reactivity under ultra violet. Improving reactivity under visible light, accounts for a large portion of solar light, is needed by modifying titanium dioxide. Through nitrogen modification, titanium dioxide can reduce carbon dioxide under visible light. In this study, we synthesize nitrogen doped titanium dioxide by sol-gel method. We get nitrogen doped titaninium dioxide through stirring titanium isopropoxide and ammonium hydroxide, drying solution, and calcination. We experiment reduction of carbon dioxide in slurry-batch reactor under white light. Productions of carbon dioxide reduction, methane and carbon monoxide, are detected by TOGA(transform oil gas analyzer, GC) timely. Nitrogen doped titanium dioxide exhibit reactivity under visible light.
