Abstract
This paper proposes the AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking) control by considering drivingconditions. When the AEB system is designed based on vehicle stopping distance, the control strategy ofAEB algorithm needs to be adapted by driving conditions such as road friction. Assuming that real-timeinformation of the road friction is provided, their effects on the emergency braking performance areinvestigated. The control strategy for incorporating the effects are designed using the adaptive controltechnique. The proposed algorithm is validated by using the computer simulation software, the CarSim.
