Abstract
This study aims to investigate soundcape evaluation and design methods to enhance outdoor space of apartment buildings. Recent results from ISO TC 43 WG 54 for standardization of soundscape quality evaluation are reviewed to apply soundscape evaluation in outdoor spaces. In addition, soundscape design approaches including introducing pleasing sounds, controling outdoor sound fields, and design based on audio-visual interactions. The findings might contribute to provide soundscape guidelines in outdoor spaces in multi-dwelling houses.
