Traditional knowledge as a cumulative body of knowledge about the relationship of living beings which transmitted from generation to generation is increasingly recognized as a solution of contemporary problems. Therefore, many countries have been trying to protect their own knowledge from the commercial exploitation by discovering knowledge which is scattered all over the country and sharing it with other countries to prevent from being patented. In this perspective, the next issue should be how to identify valuable knowledge items in terms of industrial usability. Therefore, this paper presents an evaluation model of traditional knowledge based on the patent portfolio analysis. It can result in a more efficient use of limited resources by helping to focus on some valuable knowledge items.en_US
