중국 영상 콘텐츠에 나타난 메두사 이미지의 친연성과 수용

Abstract

＜국문초록＞ 창작소재로서 신화의 비중은 무척 크다. 자국의 신화뿐만 아니라, 보편화 된 타국의 신화까지, 공통의 유산으로 받아들여지는 소재는 각지에서 매우 다양하게 변주․ 활용된다. K-Contents의 글로벌 확장 시대에 문화콘텐츠 연구자가 주목해야 할 부분이다. 그리스 신화의 메두사는 서양에서 흔히 무서운 머리, 뱀의 머리, 바다요괴, 수난녀, 지옥 괴물 등의 이미지로 등장하며, 전해지는 과정에서 죽음, 위협, 반항, 탐욕 등 다양한 의미를 부여받았다. 이것은 동아시아문화권의 콘텐츠 시장까지 영향을 끼쳤다. 메두사가 중국 독자에게 받아들여진 것은 중국 문화의 蛇蠍美人에 대한 이해와 관련이 있다. 照妖鏡의 모티브(거울응시)를 통해 이해할 수 있는 중국 독자의 아름다움에 대한 의식은 메두사를 女魔頭의 이미지로 발전시켰다. 『白蛇傳』과 『홍루몽』에서 美人과 邪魔의 존재가 이런 역할을 했다. 나아가 미인과 사마는 선한 이미지로 전환한다. 이는 중국에 많지 않은 메두사 관련 작품에서 메두사 신화가 중국 영상 작품에 끼친 영향이다. 다만 애니메이션 「쮸쮸샤(豬豬俠) 7」과 애니메이션 「鬪破蒼穹」은 치밀한 장르전환을 이루지 못한 아쉬움이 있다. 인물의 예술성을 거의 무시한 채 제작한 데다, 최근 중국의 爽劇(상쾌한 연극) 문화의 유행과 관련이 있어 보인다.

This even affected the content market in East Asian cultures. Medusa's acceptance by Chinese readers is related to the understanding of Chinese culture's 蛇蠍美人(Beauty of snake and scorpion/Femme Fatale). The Chinese reader's sense of beauty, which can be understood through the motif of the mirror, developed Medusa into an image of a Female devil king. The existence of beauties and evil spirit played this role in 『The legend story of a White-Snake』 and 『The Dream Of Red Mansions』. Furthermore, Beauty and evil spirit switch to a good image. This is the influence of the Medusa myth on Chinese video works in many Medusa-related works in China. However, the animation 「GGBOND7」 and the animation 「Fights Break Firmament / Battle Through the Heaven」 have a regret that they have not achieved a meticulous genre change. It is produced almost ignoring the artistry of the character, and seems to be related to the recent trend of China's ‘feel-good drama’ culture.
