태블릿PC에서의 애플리케이션 GUI 디자인 연구 -영어단어 학습 앱(App)을 중심으로-

Abstract

통신기기의 혁명이라고 할 수 있는 스마트 폰의 열풍에 이어 2011년에는 많은 양의 정보를 빠른 시간에 전달하는 능력과 작은 화면에서 오는 크기의 한계를 극복하고자 하는 욕구로 개발되어진 태블릿PC의 사용자 층이 확장되었다. 이러한 태블릿 PC 환경에서 특히 교육적 측면에서 제공되는 교육용 콘텐츠는 나날이 다양하게 증가하고 있다. 또한 애플리케이션의 기능적 특성과 더불어 보다 시각적 만족도를 높이는 애플리케이션을 사용하고 싶은 욕구가 높아졌다. 하지만 그에 비해 서비스 제공 측면에서나 디자인적인 부분에서 아직은 사용자의 니즈를 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있는 실정이다.

여기에서 태블릿PC 애플리케이션의 GUI디자인에 대한 연구의 목적은 정보전달에 대한 시각화의 그래픽 요소들을 충분히 고려하여 애플리케이션의 기능성과 디자인이 조화롭게 반영된 애플리케이션 디자인을 하는 것이다. 따라서 사용자의 관점에서 시각적 만족도를 높일 수 있도록 GUI디자인의 중요성을 인식하고, 향후 사용자의 다양한 요구에 부합하는 애플리케이션이 개발되어져야 할 것으로 GUI에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

본 연구는 국내 영어단어 학습 애플리케이션에서 사용하고 있는 GUI디자인에서 분석할 항목들을 도출하고 설문을 통한 결과를 바탕으로 향후 영어단어 학습 애플리케이션에 대한 디자인을 제안하였다.;Following the craze of smart-phone, a revolution of communication equipment, in 2011, users of tablet PC developed to deliver a large amount of information quickly and to get over the limit of size of small screen expanded more. In this tablet PC environment, educational contents provided for educational purposes are being diversified day by day. Also, people"s desires for using applications to improve functional characteristics and visual satisfaction are increasing. However, they don"t reflect the needs of users for improved services and designs, yet. Here, studies on GUI design of tablet PC applications aim to design applications reflecting functionality and design in harmony, in consideration of graphic elements of visualization about information delivery. Therefore, more researches on GUI design are needed to recognize its importance to enhance visual satisfaction of users and develop applications to satisfy a variety of needs of users. This study extracted items to analyze for GUI design used for domestic English word learning applications and proposed a design proper for future English word learning applications, based on the results of survey.
