Abstract
We investigate the intensity and amplitude distributions through a nano double-slit and a nano double-box by the two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method based on Drude model. In particular, we find that there is an 'intermediate region' between the near-field and far-field regions, which vary with thickness and width of the double-slit. Here, we describe the local fields and intensities propagating along and perpendicular to metal surface and their spatial distributions to verify the existence of the intermediate region.
