This paper analyzes a Cognitive Radio Network (CRN) with multiple Primary Users (PUs) whose licensed frequencies are available to the Secondary User (SU) if the outage probability constraints are met. The authors combine the underlay and interweave techniques probabilistically to maximize the throughput of the CRN. The effect of imperfect spectrum sensing, PU traffic load, sensing time, the order of sensing, interference channel gains, and number of PUs on the throughput has been investigated. The work will be useful in determining the ratio in which to use the underlay and interweave techniques, given parameters like achievable sensing accuracy, number of coexisting PUs and sensing time. © 2019 IEEE.-
