Abstract
A Minimal Surface is the smallest area that connects boundaries when given a specific boundary. When constructing a Minimal Surface with precast concrete system, the characteristic of a minimum area implies a reduction in the amount of concrete. However, it was not enough to implement due to the problems of economic feasibility and constructability, and haven’t used it. The study analyzes the morphological characteristics of the minimal surface as three criteria : area comparison, load transfer comparison, and spatial comparison. Therefore, this study propose the roof structure of the airport in Bismayah, Iraq, using precast construction for the smallest curved surface. This roof structure is considered to be an example of maximizing the morphological characteristics of the minimum area and structural stability analyzed in this study.
