Abstract
In this paper, we propose a smooth stop system with vehicle velocity profile. To cope with a smooth velocity control and stop at the exact stop point, two phases velocity profile is designed with a constant velocity and a stop point. The velocity profile is designed considering the maximum jerk, the maximum acceleration, time gap, and distance to go, etc. To validate, we compare with conventional adaptive cruise control using MATLAB/Simulink.
