dc.description.abstractThe current work introduces a simple face seal configuration for small high-speed turbomachinery. The test face seals consists of a thin housing, a wave spring, a carbon ring, and a disk. The test seal is designed to be replaced with conventional piston ring seals in turbochargers. The work includes measurements of oil leakage, friction, and wear, as well as static load characteristics, of the test seal.en_US
