전파산업의 경제적 비중과 산업연관효과

Abstract

본 연구는 전파 관련 제반 서비스 및 기기 산업을 `전파산업`으로 정의하고 동산업의 경제적 비중과 산업연관효과를 살펴본다. 국내 전파산업은 `2001년 GDP에서의 비중이 3.7%에 이르며, 경제성장에의 기여도가 12%에 이르고, 2002년 수출액이 약 100억불에 달하는 중요한 산업으로 나타난다. 하지만 `95년부터 `98년까지는 높은 성장성에도 불구하고 낮은 연구개발투자, 높은 수입유발효과 등으로 생산파급효과가 그다지 크지 못했던 것으로 보인다. 이러한 전파산업의 국내 생산유발효과의 극대화를 위하여 연구개발 투입 비중의 증가를 통한 중간재의 국산화 노력이 요망되며, 주파수의 분배 등 서비스 정책과의 연계를 통한 기기산업의 발전유도가 바람직할 것으로 보인다. This paper proposes to defind `radio industry` and finds out economic weight and inter-industry effect of the industry. Our radio industry accounts for 3.7% of GDP and 12% of contribution to economic growth in 2001. And the industry`s export is expected to reach $10 bil. However, inspite of the recent rapid growth, the production spillover effect was not so big due to low domestic contents, which is also due to low R&D investment during 1995 to 1998. To maximize the spillover effect to domestic industries, much efforts is needed to increase the domestic contents of the parts, and it can be achieved by the increased R&D input. Also, timely spectrum allocation is needed to link the equipment industry and the service industry.
