Abstract
Dynamic behavior for a drawing optical fiber considered geometric non-linearity with temperature gradient is investigated. By using the extended Hamilton's principle, the coupled non-linear partial differential equations are derived. Partial differential equations in the longitudinal and transverse directions are discretized by the Galerkin method after these equations are transformed into the variational equations, i.e., Weak forms and so admissible functions are used for bases of the longitudinal and transverse directions respectively. With these equations, the natural frequencies are investigated and the time response with the geometric non-linearity and thermal strain on the nonlinear vibration of the drawing optical fiber are computed by the Generalized - α method
