Abstract

There are many factors that affect on horizontal drain method. O f all things, estimation of appropriate properties of horizontal drain board is seemed to be a domain factor to be studied. Mechanical properties of drain board is largely divided into two categories. One is for the drain filter, such as strength of filter, clogging properties, effective opening size, and permeability, and the other is for the drain board, for example, discharge capacity. In addition the same tests using In-situ drain used for about one year are performed to estimate change in properties of drain board when drains are exposed to In-situ condition
