김종성의 오피스 빌딩에서 나타난 건축적 특징에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study is to make clear architectural characteristics in the office buildings designed by architect Kim Jong-Soung. His office buildings are very important from two viewpoints; 1) as his office buildings consistently reflect technological, climatic, urban realities in Korea, they could make understand how the particular situation in Korea influenced the design method of office buildings which was developed as a universal building type by modern architects. 2) His office buildings show an evident way to integrate technology and architectural beauty, which was considered as one of the vulnerable points in Korean architecture. Considering these thoughts, we try to evaluate historical meaning of Kim's office buildings in context of the development of contemporary tall buildings, and to analyze their module system, structural system, equipments, curtain wall technology.
