Abstract
This paper examines in detail the process in which the literature in North Korea contributed to the establishment of the communist regime in the 'Period of Peaceful Construction'. The political system in North Korea came to the present from through continuous political and ideological reforms until the mid 1960s. Although there were a number of different political groups in the early days of the communist regime, Ilsung Kim and his followers came into power by eliminating all the others. North Korea calls the period from the liberation in 1945 to the Korea war in 1950 'The Period of Peaceful Construction'. This is the period when the socialist political system was established in North Korea, and this is when the literature in North Korea was beginning to move into a new direction in step with the political change. During this period, the communists enforced various policies in order to use literature as a means to propagate their system, and the artistic groups contributed to its establishment by cooperating with it. Thus, the literature of this period played an important role in establishing the communist regime by installing socialism into the consciousness of the public and by instigating them to actively follow the policies of the communist party.
