Abstract

Multimedia rooms for various visual tasks lequire accurate design and control scenarios in artificial lighting during the early stages of design processes Then, various design and control schemes have to be evaluated in terms of quantitative and qualitative aspects Illuminance levels for various visual tasks must be evaluated in terms of quantitative aspects and. luminance distributions under various lighting schemes must be evaluated in terms of Qualitative aspects In this study, the RADIANCE program was used to evaluate the illuminance and luminance distributions m an actual multimedia lecture room to suggest a procedure for designing and controlling the artificial lighting for multi-purpose rooms In this study, three main criteria for evaluating the luminous environment of the multipurpose room included jlluminance level, VCP(Visual Comfort Proabihty) and UGR(Unified Glare Rating)
