dc.description.abstractA wideband top-loaded monocone antenna with shorting strips is proposed. By loading the shorting strips and the top-hat with two slots, the miniaturization of an antenna is achieved. The shorting strips from the monocone-hat to the ground plane are mounted to improve the antenna bandwidth at the low frequency band and the slots inside the top-hat is inserted to improve the impedance matching characteristic in the mid frequency band. From the simulation results, the -10 dB reflection coefficient bandwidth of the proposed antenna is ranging from 1.05 GHz to 10.4 GHz.en_US
