Goethe의 시 "Ganymed"에 의한 Schubert와 Wolf의 Lied 비교 연구

Abstract

Lied(독일예술가곡)는 19세기 독일낭만음악의 가장 대표적인 음악형태 중 하나이다. 독일 예술 가곡은 Gothe, Schiller, Heine등에 의해 발전된 독일의 서정시와 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다. 음악과 시의 융합이라는 새로운 형태인 독일 예술 가곡은 Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Wolf 등을 거치면서 절정을 이룬다. 많은 낭만 작곡가들이 Goethe의 시 <Ganymed>에 음악을 붙였다. 그 중에는 Schubert와 Wolf도 포함된다. 이 두 작곡가들은 동일한 시를 매우 다르게 음악적으로 표현하였다. 본 논문에서는 두 작곡가가 어떻게 시와 음악을 융합시켰는지 살펴본다. 서론에서는 독일 예술 가곡의 전반적인 배경과 연구목적을 밝혔다. 본론에서는 Schubert와 Wolf의 가곡의 음악적 특성을 가사, 형식, 선율, 화성, 리듬을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 또한 Goethe의 시 <Ganymed>의 내용과 의미를 파악한 후, 두 작곡가의 작품에서 반주를 통해 어떻게 표현되었는지를 악곡형식 분석과 화성을 중심으로 연구하였다. 그리고 이러한 곡에 대한 연구가 실제 연주 시 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지도 논하였다. 마지막으로 결론에서는 두 작곡가의 작품을 분석한 결과를 비교 정리하였다.; Lied is one of the representative genre of music in the Romantic period of the 19th century. German art song, which is closely related to the poetry of Gothe, Schiller, and Heine, was culminated in the works of Schubert, Schumann and Brahms as well as Wolf. Many Romantic composers wrote the music to <Ganymed> by Goethe. Among of them, Schubert and Wolf are the most important composers. Even though they used the same poem, <Ganymed> of Goethe, the two composers created totally different works in musical idioms and understandings. The main purpose of this study is to examine how Schubert and Wolf view the poem in a musical setting. The thesis consists of 3 chapters. In the introduction, the brief survey of the characteristics of German art song is included along with the purpose of this research. In the second chapter which isi the main part of this thesis, the musical features of art song of Schubert and Wolf are discussed with the emphasis on lyrics, form, melody, harmony and rhythm. Preceded by the study of the lyrics of <Ganymed>, implications on actual performance is featured. Lastly the conclusion reveals the musical idioms of Schubert and Wolf respectively based on the study of the chapter Ⅱ.
