초등교육무용의 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 교육무용이 실시되고 있는 서울시내의 초등학교를 중심으로 교육무용의 문제점을 지적하고, 앞으로 나아가야할 교육무용의 방향을 제시하여 초등학교 내에서 교육으로써의 무용을 활성화시키는 방안을 연구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 위해 초등학교에서 교과 내 교육무용이 실시되고 있는 서울의 교사200명과 학생 300명을 대상으로 설문지를 배포한 후 회수된 설문지를 검토 후 설문지법에 위배되는 응답과 신뢰성이 떨어진다고 판단되는 응답 자료를 제외한 후 충실히 응답해 준 교사168명과 학생 297명을 중심으로 설문조사하였다. 교사대상 설문지에는 교육무용에 대한 교육과정, 교수학습, 시설 및 운영실태, 교육무용을 위한 활성화 방안에 대한 내용으로 설문조사를 하였고, 학생대상 설문지에는 초등학생들에 대한 무용수업의 흥미도 및 인식도, 무용수업의 참여욕구 및 무용수업에서 바라는 점에 대해 설문조사 하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 제7차 교육과정 중 체육교육과정의 표현활동 만족도는 보통으로 여자교사의 비율이 약간 더 높게 나타났고, 30%의 응답자의 불만이유는 학교의 실정에 맞지 않아서였다. 무용수업은 일주일 단위로 봤을 때, 필요할 때마다 수시로 교육한다라고 했으며 성별에 따라서는 남자교사보다 여자교사가 16.6%가 더 높게 나타났고, 교직경력에서는 16~20년으로 80%의 높은 비율로 가장 많았다. 표현활동 중에서 가장 자신 있게 지도할 수 있는 내용은 기본움직임으로 성별에서는 여자교사보다 남자교사가 6% 약간 더 높게 나타났고, 담당학년별에서는 저학년을 담당한 교사의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 또한 교과 표현활동 중에서 지도하기 가장 힘든 내용은 창작표현활동으로 여자교사보다 남자교사가 5.3% 약간 더 높게 나타났다. 교과 내용의 학년별 수준은 중간이다로 성별에 따라서는 여자교사가 남자교사보다 20.2% 더 높았고, 교직경력에서는 16~20년으로 86.7%의 비율로 가장 높게 나타났다. 교과영역 중 오락무용이 43%로 여자교사 더 높게 추가되길 원했으며, 담당학년별로는 51.6%의 3학년 담당교사가 가장 높게 나타났다. 무용 수업 시에 실기 지도의 자료가 부족해서 역시 59.4%의 여자교사가 더 많은 비중으로 수업지도의 어려움을 겪었으며, 무용지도 능력을 보충하기 위해 연수나 무용 강습에 참가한다로 39.9%로 비율이 높게 나타났고, 성별에 따라서는 여자교사가 39.9%로 남자교사보다 비율이 더 높았으며, 연령별에서는 20대가 40.7%로 가장 많았다. 교사의 능력과 요구가 무용수업의 최우선으로 69.6%의 남자교사의 비중이 더 높았으며, 사설기관의 연수를 받은 경험은 있다51.8%, 없다46.4%로 여자교사가 29.8% 높게 경험이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 참여 경비는 본인과 학교의 반씩 부담하는 것으로 여자교사가 9.8% 높게 나타났다. 교내에 무용실이 대부분 없으며, 무용 수업 시에 강당 마루바닥에서 수업이 이루어졌다. 무용수업을 위한 시설은 33.6%로 거울이 가장 많았으나 일부학교에서만 갖추고 있는 시설로 대부분의 학교에서는 갖추고 있지 않았다. 학생인원은 40명 미만으로 한반 전체가 무용수업을 진행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 무용수업 운영의 가장 큰문제점은 교사의 지도능력이 부족한 것으로 연령 대에서는 55%의 50대교사가, 교직경력에서는 11~15년과 20년 이상에서 53.8%로 가장 많았고, 다음으로는 학교시설 교구가 미비해서 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학생의 흥미, 인식, 참여욕구를 살펴보면 91.1%로 고학년 여학생이 무용수업에 대한 흥미도가 높았으며, 무용경험이 있는 경우 학생들이 무용수업을 좋아하는 것으로 나타났다. 무용수업을 처음 접하게 된 계기는 학예회나 예술제를 위한 단체무용이었으며, 무용 수업 시에 가장 어려웠던 점은 이성친구와 손잡기가 쑥스러워서로 고학년이 저학년보다 14.8% , 남학생이 여학생보다 12.1% 더 높게 나타났으며 학습자는 무용수업 장소, 무용수업의 필요도, 무용수업의 인식 모두 보통이다 라는 응답으로 무용수업에 대한 관심이 그다지 많지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 무용수업의 참여욕구는 인식도가 높을수록 참여 욕구가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 효과적인 교육무용에 있어서는 교사는 무용실 및 소강당으로 적합한 장소를 여자교사들이 남자교사보다 9.9% , 6학년담당교사가 4학년담당교사 보다 49% 더 높게 필요로 했으며 무용수업시 반편성은 20명 미만이 적당하다고 한 것으로 남자교사보다 7.9% 여자교사의 비중이 더 높게 나타났고, 담당학년별로는 3,4학년의 담임이 77%비율로 가장 높게 나타났다. 사설기관에서 배우고 싶은 것은 기본 움직임(창작활동), 표현활동, 우리나라 민속무용 순으로 나타났다. 기본움직임의 경우는 연령이 높아질수록 그 비율이 점차 증가하는 추세였고, 표현활동의 경우는 연령이 높아질수록 그 비율이 점차 감소하는 경향으로 나타났다. 또한 많은 교사들이 교육무용은 전문적인 교사가 교육을 해야 한다며, 무용전담교사의 필요성이 높게 나왔으며. 무용의 범주를 체육에 속해야한다가 71.7%로 30대의 여자교사의 비중이 높았고, 예술에 속해야 한다는 20.8%로 20대가 높았고, 성별에서는 남자교사의 비율이 더 높게 나타났으며 무용교과서의 필요성을 느끼지 못하고 있었다. 학생의 경우 무용 수업 시에 예술무용, 리듬운동, 표현활동, 오락무용 순으로 나타났으며 그밖에도 댄스스포츠, 밸리댄스 등을 배워보고 싶어 했다. 예술무용의 경우 여학생이 남학생보다 32.4% 더 높게 나타났으며, 오락무용의 경우 남학생이 19% 더 높게 나타났다. 무용수업에서 바라는 점은 자유롭게 할 수 있는 공간이 30.9%로 가장 많았고, 그 다음으로 무용수업을 재미있게 가르치는 선생님, 무용수업에 사용되는 소품제공, 무용수업의 더 많은 시간분배 순으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과에서와 같이 초등학교 교육무용의 현황은 담임교사 위주의 수업전개로 교사들이 올바른 교육과정을 실행하기에는 많은 어려움이 따르는 것으로 사료된다. 이처럼 초등학교 내에서 교육무용의 활성화를 위해서는 교육과정의 개정이전에 교사 양성과정에서부터 교과별 특성을 찾아 현장에 서기전에 전문성을 갖출 수 있는 기회를 제공해야하며, 교사나 학생의 실질적인 요구와 흥미에 부합되는 내용의 효율적인 프로그램이 개발되어야 하겠다. 나아가 교육무용은 교육적 기능의 효과를 위해서 독자적인 교과로 설정되어야 하며 그에 따라 무용전문교사를 채용하여 체계적인 교육 내용으로 확립되어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해서는 정부의 적극적인 정책적 지원이 뒷받침되어야 하겠다.; The research which it sees within the Seoul in the center elementary school where the education dance is executed indicates the problem point of education dance, The purpose of this work is to advise and presents activates the direction to education of dance in the future and there is the objective of the place where it researches the plan which can activate the dance with education inside the elementary school.
