로버트 슈만의 연가곡 『여인의 사랑과 생애』(Op.42)에 관한 연구

Abstract

예술가곡(art song, Lied)은 낭만시대를 대표하는 음악장르 중 하나이며, 시와 음악의 예술적 결합 형태라 할 수 있다. 이 장르의 발달은 독일 시문학과 깊은 연관을 갖는다. 괴테(Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, 1749-1832), 하이네(Heinrich Heine, 1797-1856), 쉴러(Friedrich von Schiller, 1759-1805) 등 위대한 시인들의 숭고한 시들은 많은 작곡가에 의하여 노래로 만들어지게 된다. 또한 이런 예술시들은 작곡가들의 독자적인 해석과 표현에 의하여 재탄생된다. 독일 낭만 예술가곡의 대표적 작곡가 중 한 사람인 슈만은 문학적으로도 뛰어난 재능과 관심을 가진 작곡가였다. 이러한 그의 예술적 성향은 그의 예술가곡들에서 잘 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 ‘가곡의 해’라 불리는 1840년에 작곡된 슈만의 예술가곡 중 샤미소(Adelbert von Chamisso, 1781-1838)의 시에 곡을 붙인 연가곡집 『여인의 사랑과 생애』(Frauenliebe und Leben, Op.42)의 분석을 통하여 음악과 문학의 결합이 어떠한 형태로 나타나는지에 관하여 고찰하였다. 또한 이 작품은 일관된 이야기의 흐름을 가지는 연가곡이라는 점에 착안하여, 어떠한 방법을 통하여 개별 악곡들이 통일적이고 유기적인 형식으로 하나의 작품을 이루는지에 관하여 살펴보았다. 이 작품에서는 특정한 목적으로 계획된 조성구조, 시와 음악의 통일된 형식구조, 각운의 처리, 일관된 선율구조 등의 기법 등을 통하여 시와 음악은 분리할 수 없는 상호 보완적인 매개체들로 밀접하게 연결되어 있음을 확증한다.; Art song is a representative music-genre of 'The Romantic Period', the combination of the poetry and the song as the form on the art. The growth of this has deeply had relationship with 'German Poetry Literature '. The masterpieces of poets such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe(1749-1832), Heinrich Heine(1797-1856), Friedrich von Schiller(1759-1805) had transfigured into the songs by various composers. At the same time, these Art songs have had rebirth with the creative interpretation and expression originated from the composers. Schumann, one of most famous composer of 'German art songs', was the Musician who had his literacy talent and interest. His art songs have displayed his omni directional taste about art. The purpose of this thesis is to research the form resulted from the blending of The song and The literature, throughout the analysis of 『Frauenliebe und Leben』(Op.42), a collection of songs cycle which Adelbert von Chamisso(1781-1838), one of schumann's art songs, composed in 1840, the year of The song, had been transfigured into. And on the point that a collection of songs cycle has a consistent story-flow, the other purpose is to observe the way how the particular songs be combined into one of the masterpieces with organic form. The Analysis of this song proves that the song deeply has relationship with poem by the mutual repletion such as the tonal structure planned on the specific purpose, the united form structure between the song and the poem, the rhyme process, and the consistent melody structure.
