수학의 변수 개념에 대한 인지적 장애에 대한 연구

학생들이 수학에 대해 어려움을 느끼는 큰 이유 중 하나는 변수 때문이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 학생들의 변수에 대한 인지적 장애에 대해 연구하였다. 본 연구의 실험을 위해 경기도에 소재한 S중학교 2학년, 3학년 학생 중에서 평균 지능지수(IQ)와 전 학년 수학교과 기말고사 성적이 평균에 가까운 학생들 중 각각 100명, 90명을 선정하여 검사지를 이용하여 조사 하였고, 이후 통계 분석 중 하나인 로짓 분석 하였다. 통계 분석 결과 학생들은 변수 기호의 임의성에 대해 이해하지 못하고 있었고, 문장식에 대한 변수의 표현이 부족하였다. 그리고 2학년과 3학년 사이에서 3학년이 정답률이 높긴 하였지만 유의수준에 도달하지 못하여 3학년이 올라가도 인지적 장애를 느끼는 것은 여전하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 학생들의 변수 개념 지도와, 학생들의 변수에 대한 인지적 장애 해소 위한 연구가 과제로 남는다.|ABSTRACT

Many students have difficulties in understanding the concept of variables in learning Mathematics. In this thesis, we investigate cognition disorder on variables. We select 100 and 90 students from the second and third grades in a middle school, where IQ's and the final Math scores of these students are located in averages. The logistic regression is used to analyze the questionnaires.

The experimental results yield two promising outcomes; First, students have troubles in understanding randomness of variable symbols and they do not properly demonstrate variables expressions through sentence equations. Second, the third grade students outperform the second grade students in terms of correct answers. However, the third grade students still seem to have some deficiencies in recognition. Future research will be directed to develop new teaching methodologies in order for students to circumvent cognition disorder on variables.; ABSTRACT
